Illustrator Shows How Women Actually Live The Single Life!

Illustrator Shows How Women Actually Live The Single Life!

While many of us dream of living alone one day, some of us have already achieved it. Apart from the various kinds of gender discrimination women face while apartment hunting in India, there is a common perception that those who decide to live independently are unhappy. Changing that view is Idalia Candelas, an illustrator from Mexico, who is challenging these ideas with her fierce comics.

Her project, Postmodern Loneliness, depicts the beauty of solitude and singlehood with such finesse that just one look at it and you will feel a sense of empowerment. The artist herself stayed alone for a while and, drawing inspiration from her own experiences, she came up with these absolutely kickass illustrations. She wants to show the world the woman who enjoys her own space, who loves drinking coffee wearing just a shirt, one who is proud of her body, and isn’t afraid to be herself.

Scroll down to see this woman who is highly relatable — this comic is happiness guaranteed.
