We Give You Another Reason To Head To Alibaug This Summer!

When someone tells me that he/she wants to go on a weekend getaway to Alibaug, I have legit mixed feelings. It is a place that is done to death, but then again, I recently went there for 2 weekends, back to back, so I’m definitely not in a position to give snarky comments.

Perfect for a quick holiday, to instantly rejuvenate yourself, and, frankly, light on the pocket (unlike Goa) Alibaug plans usually do work out. Apart from the beaches and water sports, there is another reason to head to this little seaside town and it’s something that will catch your attention. The folks at Mandwa Port have started a cool, new space called Beach Box, which you cannot miss — it’s right at the Mandwa jetty, next to the recently opened yet already famous restaurant, Boardwalk By Flamboyante.

It is an amphitheatre, surrounded by 21 pop-up stores within shipping containers, painted in various pops of colours. The space has been done up in a quirky manner with vibrant dècor elements that give it a super positive vibe.

A concept that is prevalent in Dubai, San Fransisco, and London, that is, having retail and food stores inside shipping containers, has finally reached the shores of India, and we are loving it! The place transforms once the sun goes down, with live performances, open mic events, amazing workshops, and lots more.

Even if you are not heading to Alibaug, you can take the 45-minute ferry or the 20-minute speedboat to Mandwa, and spend a lazy Sunday here. We also recommend stopping by Boardwalk for a delicious meal, but remember to make a reservation in advance, as it’s usually booked out for weeks, especially on the weekends.
