#HauteSounds: Adele Owns The Internet With Her New Song!

After the astounding response that Adele’s Hello received, do we need further proof that the British singer is a living goddess? Well, she’s gone ahead and proved it anyway. At the Billboard Music Awards 2016 last Sunday (where, FYI, she also bagged 5 awards), Adele released a distinct new video for her single Send My Love (To Your New Lover). The song is Adele’s third single from her album 25.

The new video has been directed by Patrick Daughters and filmed in London, in seriously minimalistic fashion. It features Adele in a floral maxi number (that she picked out herself) and is set against a stark black backdrop. As she sings, the visuals blur and merge into each other, making for a hypnotic visual experience. She even goes on to bust some moves for the very first time. While some people have taken to Twitter to express their dislike for the muddling visuals, which they claim “hurt their eyes”, others have been going crazy praising the video for all its worth. But you absolutely need to watch it for yourself to decide.

The song — which is all about saying a happy, non-bitter goodbye to a former lover — is catchy, upbeat and easy to hum. But what’s really cool is watching Adele sing it. It is also a welcome change from the usual poignant notes of her previous numbers, and will have you tapping your feet in time to the beats. What’s more, the video has garnered over 16 million views already.

We’ve already got this song on an endless loop!
