7 Fitness Tips For Your 20s That Will Help You In Your 30s

It is true that the 20s are the best time of your life! You are healthy, active, strong, and (mostly) in good shape. The 20s are almost like a foundation for the days to come. Now, let us be clear, everyone is going to grow old, but you do not have to feel old if you keep yourself active, healthy, and happy.

To continue being healthy and fit in your 30s, you need to take care of yourself. Follow these tips and make yourself ready for the 30s!

snack smart

1. SNACK SMART

Eating a snack or two between your meals can help curb your hunger, so that you do not end up overeating. You can snack on citrus fruits like grapefruit, or mix protein and carbohydrates. Have a fistful of black chana sprouts an hour or so before your lunch.

cut back on sugar

2. CUT BACK ON SUGAR

Yes, yes, I do understand that it is extremely difficult to cut back on sugar, especially when you have a sweet tooth. But let me tell you that it can actually help with your weight, and your skin! It has been a year since I went off sugar and my skin has been glowing ever since, no acne! Stop taking sugar in your coffee, and have desserts once a week—the key is to have a bit of everything, and snack on dark chocolate if you must.

stay active

3. STAY ACTIVE

I cannot stress this enough, the 20s are the best time in your life, and it is essential that you take care of your body. Go for a Zumba class, join your locality’s yoga group, or jump rope every day. Do whatever you find interesting, so you stay motivated to keep fit. If need be, ask someone to constantly pester you to get up and get moving!

4. PRACTISE PORTION CONTROL

It is quite clear that to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume. Load up your plate with some lean protein like chicken and fish along with a lot of veggies and carbs. It shouldn’t feel like you are on a diet; instead, have a little of everything and you will be good!

eat vegetables

5. VEGGIES TO THE RESCUE

Always make it a point to increase the amount of veggies on your plate. Have broccoli, spinach, carrots and beetroot to make your meal healthy and full of nutrients. You can even snack on baby carrots whenever you feel the urge to have something unhealthy.

cook your own meals

6. COOK YOUR OWN MEALS

If you cook your own meals, you will be aware of the amount of oil and butter you are adding to the dish. Note down some healthy and yummy recipes from different food websites, and start with cooking at least one meal in a day. You will automatically cut down on the fat and excess carbs you are consuming.

meditate

7. MEDITATE

Meditation can help you with a lot of things. It can calm your mind and make you feel stress-free and fresh all day long, give you the will power to do all of the above, and make you feel happy and healthy. Just take out five minutes in the morning or anytime during the day, especially if you are beginner, and see yourself transform into a healthy being.
