11 Rom-Coms To Watch With Your Girl Gang… Because Why Not?!
Who says you only watch rom-coms with your SO, or alone while getting over a heartbreak? I believe that rom-coms can be watched with your girl gang as well. It is such a fun way to spend time with your besties; moreover, it is the best way to have a girls’ night in!
All you need is comfortable seating, blankets, some drinks, and popcorn! These movies will make you gush, smile, and laugh together. I could have added tons of movies in the list, but these 11 are my favourites.
1. BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM
A Punjabi girl, Jess, living in London bends the rules to reach her goal of playing professional soccer. Her parents refuse to even consider her profession and wants her to find a nice boy and learn to cook. One day while playing soccer she comes across Juliette Paxton who plays for the local women’s team. Soon, their friendship blossoms and Jess falls for her soccer coach. It’s such a fun movie to watch with your besties and laugh together.
2. JAANE TU YA JAANE NA
Two childhood friends who’d do go to any length to make the other smile soon realize that they are completely and truly in love. It is a feel-good movie that will leave your hearts full of warmth and happiness.
3. HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS
Benjamin who is an advertising executive and a ladies’ man bets that he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days, to win a competition. Andie writes a column for Composure magazine and is assigned to write an article on How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. I’d suggest you make a huge batch of Martinis before you start the movie!
4. JAB WE MET
Aditya, a broken-hearted and depressed businessman meets Geet, a cheerful girl from Bhatinda on a train and gradually they fall in love with each other. This movie will make you laugh, smile, maybe cry a bit and is a great movie to watch with your girl gang.
5. BRIDESMAIDS
Annie Walker is the Maid of Honor to her best friend but picks up a rivalry with one of the bridesmaids. Slowly, the events lead to a lot of mishaps, but in the end, the two best friends manage to rebuild their friendship. Get ready for a lot of awws and laughter.
6. 2 STATES
Ananya and Krish are from two different castes and cultures, but despite all odds and families who do not like each other, their love wins an eventually get married. But it is what they go through amidst all that, that matters the most. Most of you will be able to resonate with the movie as a lot of youngsters are going through similar issues.
7. MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING
Aaah, a movie about a Julianne who is in love with her best friend. But here is a catch—he is getting married to someone else! With a surge of mixed emotions, she makes up her mind to sabotage his wedding and make him her own. Definitely, a fun-filled and emotional movie to watch with your girlies.
8. WHEN HARRY MET SALLY
You may find this movie a little cliche now, but back in the day, it was the first of its kind. Harry and Sally keep meeting and deny the obvious sexual tension, but fate has other plans. Watch this movie with your besties and get ready to feel that warm and fuzzy feeling in your hearts. Moreover, we’d like to see Meg Ryan on the big screen again!
9. HEAD OVER HEELS
Amanda has terrible luck with men until she meets Jim. But she sees him committing a murder and decides to solve the mystery. It is not a rom-com that many remember, but as a teenager, I used to love it. Moreover, Freddie Prinze Jr. is s sight to sore eyes. *wink*
10. AISHA
Aisha loves playing matchmaker and tries to make her friend, Shefali and Randhir fall in love. In the process, she ends up ruining her relationship with her closest friends. A movie about love and friendship, it will make you realize the importance of your friends and teach you a bit about love, too.
11. PRETTY WOMAN
I remember watching this movie as a 15-year-old and falling in love with the idea of love. This movie will make you believe a little more in the concept of finding ‘the one’, believe me. Just have some cosmos ready on your hands while you watch this movie.
