As we’ve mentioned before, the #HauteSquad is a bunch of stylish girls who love all these fashion, beauty, and sassy. We’re constantly sharing our latest buys and obsessions with each other, and now, we’re letting you into our HQ too! Every week, Team Hauterfly will share its current obsession — and tell you where you can buy it too! #BFFGoals.
Diwali is right around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited. The lights, the excitement, the food (most importantly, the food), and all the festivity have got the #HauteSquad hella excited. And sorta greedy. We started chatting about what we want for Diwali this year (does it really matter from whom?), and each member of the team came up with something different and lust-worthy. So, but of course, we decided to share these with you. So here’s what the Hauterfly editors want this Diwali…does our wishlist match yours?
Forea Luna 2
“I’ve been thinking about getting myself a Clarisonic facial cleanser for a long time now. However, considering how sensitive my skin is, I’m extremely wary of using cleansing brushes that can potentially make my skin revolt. So when Forea launched the Luna last year, I was intrigued. Firstly, the handy little device doesn’t actually have a brush. Instead, it has gentle-for-your-skin silicone ‘bristles’ that help deep clean your delicate facial skin effectively. With its new upgrade, the Luna 2, the plush cleansing device directs low-frequency T-Sonic pulsations on the skin to help unclog pores, lift away dirt and oil, and also smoothen fine lines for firmer-looking skin. What’s more, the Luna 2 is completely waterproof and can easily be used in the shower. All in under 2 minutes. Perfect!”
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I absolutely love sarees. I don’t think there’s anything lovelier, more beautiful, or more sensual than a woman in a saree…even more so, an Indian woman in a saree, curves and all. I spend a large amount of my time browsing through designer sarees online, so when I was asked what I really wanted this Diwali, pat came the reply. This stunning metallic handwoven linen and silk jari sari by Anavila. Just looking at the nine yards, you can tell how soft the fabric is, which can only mean one thing — the fall will be perfect. The blue-grey colour works just as well during the day or the night, and hey, who doesn’t love metallics? I would pair this saree with a bright-coloured blouse — think hot pink or purple — tailored to a racer-back or halter neck…a little sweet and a little spicy. *goes back to daydreaming*
If you’re a fitness freak, you’d be as crazy about a smartwatch as I am. And the Moto 360 (2nd Gen) Rose Gold Leather Smart Watch is a total beauty! It’s sleek, understated, and in gold. What’s not to love? Moreover, this one is both iOS and Android compatible. #Win. I’m going all out with my new timepiece this Diwali. On-point and totally chic!
While most people ask for jewellery or other blingy things, I’m feeling very normcore this Diwali. I absolutely adore the athleisure trend and what better way to look effortlessly chill than with a pair of iconic Adidas Superstars? If you’re feeling particularly generous towards your fav #HautSquad member, you know where to find me! *wink*
Being a self-proclaimed bag lover, a bucket bag has been at the top of my wishlist for a long time now. But not just any bucket bag, I want one that’s an absolutely perfect arm candy — from the fabric to the colour to ERRYTHING. And this captivating bag from Ted Baker ticks all the right boxes. Show of hands from those of you who’d want to buy me this!
Of late, I have a new-found love for hi-tech gadgets, one of them being a VR headset. Until recently, I thought they were fictitious and existed only in sci-fi movies, but when a friend showed interest in buying one, I was immediately hooked. So this Diwali, my eyes are on headsets that would make my movie experiences a lot better — since I’m not a gamer, movies are my best bet. Virtual Reality headsets are a step towards advancement and I sure am ready to be a part of it! And won’t I look pretty cool with them on?
If you haven’t figured it out yet, shoes are my kryptonite. And the more unique they are, the more I want them. These Zara heels precisely feed into that weakness. I love the asymmetric design that adds to the basic court shoe. I can either dress it up formal, or wear it with jeans and they would end up looking equally good each time! If my loved ones are reading this (you better be), *hint hint* keep this in mind when you’re thinking of buying me a gift for Diwali.
They say Diwali is about colourful attires, lots of lights, sweets, get-togethers, and celebrating with family and friends. And I couldn’t agree more. I love getting all decked up in traditional apparel and jewellery, even if it’s for a couple of hours. So when I think of what I want for Diwali, it has to be something special. I think crystal teamed with gold looks beautiful, so when I looked at this bracelet, it was love at first sight. The best part? It’s handcrafted. Who wouldn’t love such an exclusive piece of jewellery?
The one thing that you need to get the party started is good music. Be it while you’re camping in the wild or at a cosy house party; having a good set of portable speakers is a blessing. And with Beats, you expect nothing but the best. What adds more life to the party, err speaker, is its quirky white stand. To justify its steep price, I would say that it is an investment for life!
