The Lippie That’s Making Farozan’s Lips POP!
I’m going to let you in on an open secret: it’s my birthday today! Can I hear a YAAAAAAAS? Even though it’s been a great year, I’ve gotten older but none the wiser (about everything except beauty!) 2016 was the year that I discovered a lot of products that I cannot live without, and the Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour + Primer is one such addition to my beauty kit.
I’ve got Boom Pop, a luscious shade of deep berry that’s très perfect for Fall. On application, you get a pop of liquid, high-shine colour in one, full-coverage coat. The lipstick is lightweight and long-wearing, and survived the day with one teensy reapplication, which I could have easily avoided, if it weren’t for my OCD.
The inbuilt primer makes a world of a difference, in terms of application. Unlike other liquid lipsticks, the Clinique Pop Matte doesn’t dry your lips, but nourishes them instead. The name of the product may say matte, but I would say the finish is more satin-y. I ain’t complaining, because of the number of compliments I get every time I wear it. Although this lippie will make your lips look amazing, it’s not kiss-proof, which means it’s super transferable, so keep bae at a good distance, unless you want to mark him.
Like all Clinique products, the Pop Mattes are allergy tested, 100% fragrance-free, and do not contain formaidehyde, formaidehyde resin, toluene, DBP (dibutyl Phthlate), and camphor. Another downside would be that the formula glides on so effortlessly that sometimes, it does shift around a tad, something that won’t be an issue once you learn how to apply the product properly. I admit, the price tag is a bit steep for a tiny bottle of product, but the fantastic finish, coupled with Clinique’s stellar reputation makes for one splurge that you won’t regret. After all, it’s my birthday and I say you should treat yo’self!
