Simi’s Steals: A Foolproof Summer Maxi Dress
One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: Every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 3,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!
Scouting for the perfect summer dress below Rs 1,500 is not easy, especially considering clothing prices soar as quickly as the temperature. But what when you find a perfect buy that’s not only below the aforementioned amount but also from a high street brand that’s known for its minimal design? You buy it STAT, because babe, I’ll say this loud and clear — it’s a STEAL!
And so, this week’s budget buy is a comfortable sleeveless maxi dress from Zara. Why go for it? Reason No. 1: It’s a sleek silhouette in cotton. A white dress is a wardrobe essential, because not only is it a foolproof summer dress, you can use it as a perfect transitional garment provided how you style it. Also if you think a monotone outfit is boring, accessorise it with something more colourful. Either work multi-hued pom-pom sandals or layer it with a colourful summer jacket. Or you could accessorise it with a colourful tasselled neckpiece.
Here, I’ve added tan sandals because of a budget crunch; not only is it a cheap and stylish option, tan works with anything and everything (especially white). And I’ve added an ethnic vibe by working a mat handcrafted bag which has some colour element to it. Overall, I think you have a perfect day wear outfit for less than Rs 3,000.
