#AskHauterfly: What Is A Fluted Hem?

So you guys know what a peplum is, right? Well, we’re now introducing you to the pretty fluted hem! Essentially, a fluted hem is mainly seen on skirts, where it’s slim on the waist and hips and flares out to a ruffled hem at the end, creating a fishtail-like effect. Think of it as a bodycon pencil skirt that slips into a flounced hem, sort of like the Spanish Flamenco skirt but without the extra added ruffles.

Creating a sexy, feminine silhouette, the fluted hem is a perfect way to accentuate those curves and flaunt your figure. You can either dress it for a fancy night out or wear it with a t-shirt and sneakers — it looks amazing either way and goes amazingly well with any trend you choose to style it with. Also called a peplum skirt or trumpet skirt, this style is definitely a wardrobe must have.
