Simi’s Steals: The Comfortable Denim Shirtdress
One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: Every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 3,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!
God bless the man who decided to make garments out of denim, and all the others who followed suit. Think about it: This is one fabric that has all the qualities one looks out for sartorially: durability, versatility, style, and comfort. And like me, if you’ve got your denim love going strong this summer, you’re not going to spend a single rupee on a pair of denim trousers. Because this is the season you kiss your jeans goodbye for a few months, say hello to wardrobe updates that are hassle-free and comfortable. But what then? The answer to that is a super chic denim dress.
Denim dresses are not just a favourite among celebrities, it’s an IT girl outfit. You’ll find street style stars working a denim dress in ways to take chic cues from: cinch your waist with a sleek belt or add a tee under your denim dress and complete the look with a sporty pair of flatforms. Like I mentioned, this indigo blue garment has so much potential.
For my style pick this week, I chose a denim shirtdress from Closet Diaries, that comes with a tan tasseled belt. I like that the dress has a washed out look and has pockets too (plus two for that utilitarian factor). I’ve added suede sandals to the ensemble; this smart tan pair has a buckled style and fringe detailing on the back. Complete this look with a pair of stacked bangles with faux gemstones and studs and you’re day ready in less than Rs 3,000. BTW, don’t forget those glares, ladies!
