Simi’s Steals: The Splatter Print Dress
One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: Every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 3,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!
Art and fashion go hand-in-hand, and in a way these are design genres that inspire each other as well. The ’80s splatter print has made a comeback in the past few seasons, and is one example of the same. If you take a look at it closely, in one fashion season or the other, you are bound to see some designer proving that point to us. This time around, it was the Spring Summer collections at Prabal Gurung, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana. The garments in these collections seemed like they were brush-stroked by paint — either in monochrome or a bright palette of colours. Not only is the splatter print a bold one, it is also extremely artistic. What’s best is, it adds all the attention to an ensemble, so you can actually take a breather when it comes to the accessories.
My key ensemble for this week: A splatter ink print dress. This V-neck wrapped cami dress in white from SR Store has blue ink splatters on it. Wear it just as is, or team it up with a gold metallic belt. I’ve added a pair of metallic and tan flats from Koovs to this ensemble. The only accessory I’ve completed this attire with is a gold cuff from Bandish. Such a perfect day outfit this is, no? Go shop, and make the artist in you happy!
