Editor’s Pick: Zahra’s Patriotic Pendant
If you’re as much of a jewellery hoarder as me — especially of the cheap and chic kind — you’re going to love this one. I’ve been looking for a new addition to my collection of delicate necklaces I can layer over multiple pieces, and randomly chanced upon this adorable Pipa+Bella neckpiece during one of my many online window-shopping excursions.
Aptly called the West Love Indi-Pendant, this minimalist neckpiece comes in the form of India’s elongated diamond shape, and has a hollow heart on the right depicting love for the country’s Western region. Being a native Mumbai girl and proud Maharashtrian, I took to it immediately! This neckpiece literally lets me wear my love for my country (and my state) around my neck in the chicest way possible. How awesome is that!
The delicate little necklace is made of 18k gold and is coated with a special wax called Renaissance Lacquer to prevent it from tarnishing. It’s the perfect size to wear high up on the neck, and you can layer on a bunch other necklaces in varying lengths to amp up its unique charm.
For those of you who live in other parts of the country, there’s some patriotic love for you too. The piece also comes in variations of North, South, East and Central, so you can choose whatever floats your boat. With Republic Day just around the corner, I know what I’m going to be wearing to show my love for Mother India!
