Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016: Day 3 Report

Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016: Day 3 Report

The 2016 edition of Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016 continued in full swing on Day 3, with a number of big names displaying their latest collections. While Rajesh Pratap Singh closed the day, Suhani Pittie, Payal Singhal, Doodlage, Kanika Goyal, and a number of other designers showcased their creations.

Chola and Rishta by Arjun Saluja_Hauterfly

Chola brought back into the limelight Manisha Koirala, who closed the show for the label. Breathable fabrics and flow, anti-fits in autumn/winter hues were the mainstay of the collection. Rishta By Arjun Saluja saw some sharp cuts in ethnic menswear and fusion pieces in the women’s segment. Ghagra skirts teamed with crisp white shirts made the collection uber cool.

Gaurang + Chirag Nainani_Hauterfly
While Chirag Nainani kept his collection edgy, sensual and unconventional (the tie with that plunging dress — yum), Gaurang celebrated his Indian roots with stunning saris and lehengas in earthy and bright tones created on silks, crepes, and handlooms. Mugdha Godse looked like a dream walking down the runway as the showstopper.

Kanika Goyal + Doodlage_Hauterfly

Doodlage gave us back-to-school boho vibes with their extremely out-there fashion while Kanika Goyal showcased creations perfect for women on top — she made power dressing look oh-so chic.

Suhani Pittie + Priyadarshini Rao_Hauterfly

Priyadarshini Rao showcased a wide variety of colours in comfy fabrics with tons of layering — that high-low kurta-top is on our shopping list. Suhani Pittie’s jewellery has always caught our attention and this time was no different — we can already see the warrior-like cross-body wares becoming a trend.

Whimsical + Eshaa Amiin_Hauterfly

The breathtaking Lara Dutta Bhupathi took the catwalk to close Eshaa Amiin’s sexy noir show. The fabrics, the silhouettes, the cuts — we’re in love. True to its name, Whimsical gave us some interesting combinations in the form of many layers. Swara Bhaskar floated down the ramp in a lovely pastel lehenga, befittingly closing the show.

Zoraya + Rara Avis by Sonal Verma_Hauterfly

Planning your next winter holiday? We are after watching Rara Avis by Sonal Verma’s collection. Fur-lined long coats over skirts of various hem lengths made this one seriously lust-worthy collection. Zoraya’s shimmery and shiny collection made us wish for the festive season to come sooner. Relaxed silhouettes on various degrees of gold and silver meant an utterly attractive show.
