Where To Get That Anita Dongre Dress Kate Middleton Wore!

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s arrival in India yesterday had social media abuzz not just because it’s their maiden visit to the country together, but also because the Duchess of Cambridge is one of the most sought-after style icons today. Not only does the world pay heed to what the young British royal is wearing, but major labels want her to dress her their outfits, fashionistas keep an eye on what she’s wearing and where to buy them, and style critics are keen to jot down where she went wrong. Because, well, Kate Middleton makes headlines no matter what she does.

It’s just been a day since Middleton arrived in India, and the internet has already gone into a tizzy over her outfit choices. We saw her in three different avatars on Day 1, but there was just one that REALLY caught our eye: A pleasantly surprising pick from Anita Dongre.

The pretty tunic dress — called Gulrukh, from Dongre’s Spring Summer 2016 collection — is made of georgette and has Jaipur-inspired motifs on it. We love that Middleton opted for an Indian designer like Dongre, who is known for her contemporary take on traditional Indian motifs and silhouettes. Keeping things casual, simple and ladylike, she accessorised the look with neutral wedges from Monsoon, filigree earrings from Accessorize, and Rayban Wayfarers.

Prior to this, the Duchess wore a gorgeous red Alexander McQueen ensemble while checking into the Taj Hotel and paying respect to the staff and people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the hotel a few years ago. Wearing a red paisley skirt with a scarf-print blouse with a gathered neckline detailing, Kate gave us a lesson on how to work a modern yet professional look that was anything but boring. While the runway style for the dress has a shorter sleeve, Middleton chose to modify her blouse with a 3/4th sleeve. To complete her look, the Duchess accessorised with LK Bennett court shoes (which are now on waiting list), a suede taupe clutch from Russell & Bromley, and earrings from Cassandra Goad.

For the Bollywood charity gala organised by the British Asian Trust at the Taj later in the evening, Middleton looked regal in a royal blue Jenny Packham gown worn with a matching beaded cape. She teamed her look with Prada stilettos and earrings from Amrapali.
