Baishali Is Dreaming Of Walking Down The Red Carpet In This Gorgeous Gown
Did you watch the Golden Globes last night? Did you watch Meryl Streep’s goosebump-inducing speech? And Ryan Gosling’s heart-melting serenade of his partner, Eva Mendes? And Viola Davis’s tear-jerker of an intro for Meryl Streep? Man, this year’s awards were heavy no? And then of course, there were the stunning looks on the red carpet. With our very own Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra making us super proud, can you really not imagine yourself on that red carpet some day? I’ve already slipped into La La Land (see what I did there?), daydreaming about gliding among the stars, the paparazzi exploding in my face. Now all I need to complete this picture in my head is the perfect gown. And of course, being the Desi Girl that I am, I would choose an Indian designer — and boy, is there some talent to choose from!
The reason I chose this gown for my fantasy walk down the red carpet is a) its simplicity, and b) the ethnicy element to it. This resham embroidered organza gown is pretty much as indigenous as it gets. The way the bodice and the flowy floral-printed skirt contrasts each other adds to the uniqueness of this piece. Classy, understated, feminine, and oh-so pretty! A soft, messy side updo, some smokey gold eyes, and and oxblood lips, paired with gold strappy heels (thinking of Louboutin…) and a similarly designed clutch should complete my look. What do you think? Am I Golden Globe red-carpet ready?
