#HauteHack: Clean Your White Sneakers In A Jiffy
Every time I head in the general direction of my shoe cabinet, I always take a moment to glance with adoration at my favourite pair of sneakers: A pair of white-with-floral prints plimsolls, which have a very special place in my heart.
But no matter how many times I want to wear them, I don’t. My biggest fear is putting them on, dirtying the rubber mid-soles to the point of no return, then discarding them.
Anyone who owns a pair of white leather sneakers or rubber plimsolls will understand the pain a stain causes in my weak little heart.
However, I recently stumbled on this AMAZING tutorial on YouTube that’s so simple and easy-to-do, I just had to try it out for myself. All you need is this great product called Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and you can primp up your favourite sneakers in no time.
Soak the Magic Eraser in a bowl of water. This helps to activate the special melamine foam of the product which removes stubborn stains instantly.
Squeeze out water from the sponge, then scrub the areas on your leather shoes that need cleaning. You’ll be amazed at how easily this product removes accumulated dirt.
Want to clean the rubber mid-soles on your plimsolls? Repeat Step 1 and 2.
Wipe your shoes dry with a paper towel or tissues.
Note: Do not rub the product too hard on your shoes or you could end up damaging them. Also, avoid using this on printed and canvas shoes.
