#HauteHack: Removing Dirt From Suede Just Got Easier

Suede has made a major fashion comeback this year. The softness of the fabric, combined with how luxurious it looks, makes it something worth investing in. However, it’s also an incredibly difficult fabric to clean without causing permanent damage. While dry cleaning clothing made of suede is an option, it sure can burn a hole in your pocket. If you’ve got a stain on it that’s not deep seated, there’s an easy trick to clean it out and you won’t believe what you can use to do it. The answer? Stale bread.

Here’s what you need to do. Remove the bread crumbs from a slice of bread and allow it to stale for a few days. Then place your suede item — be it a jacket or a pair of shoes — over a newspaper and rub the edge of the stale bread on the affected area. Watch the dirt disappear. Simple no?

Note: This hack only works on surface grime and minor dirt stains. It will not remove excessive or wet stains.
