“This has been my go-to everyday lipstick for as long as I can remember. The deep beige colour is the perfect nude for my pale complexion, and the matte formula doesn’t dry out my lips either. It goes on super smooth and opaque, and it’s the one lipstick I find myself reaching for, over and over again. The great thing about Velvet Teddy is how different it looks on different people. On me, it’s like a warm brown nude, but I’ve also seen it look slightly peachy on darker complexions. Either way, it’s a stunning colour to have in your lipstick arsenal!”

“While I love bright lipsticks on my chocolate-hued skin, there’s something so sensuous about a deep oxblood-like colour, which is exactly what this one is. My lips are really thin but this gives instantly makes them look fuller (read: Priyanka Chopra; #justkidding). Even though it’s matte, it glides on pretty smooth, though I prefer applying just a touch of chapstick beforehand. I know you’re not supposed to go heavy on the eyes and lips together, but I pay no heed (rules schmules) — I apply this gorgeous hue and use my kajal to make thick wing-tips, keeping the rest of my face bare. I don’t even need anyone else’s approval; I love the final look!”

“This is my go-to when it comes to adding a dash of glam for a night out. The outspoken red looks like a million bucks (or so I’ve been told!) on my wheatish complexion and it’s really the easiest (and the laziest) way to play deck-up when you’re not in the mood to go all-out with your choice of ensemble. Some kohl and the muted plum MAC Viva Glam is all I reach out for. And without fail, time and again, it pretty much aces the glam quotient. Because it has matte finish, I prefer to apply a coat of Carmex before going full-throttle red on the lips. That way, the colour lasts longer and your lips don’t feel chapped either. So if you’re looking for a statement-worthy red lipstick, this is hands-down one of the best picks, especially for Indian skin tones.”

It has been my latest obsession and is always in my handbag no matter where I go…you know just in case of a lip-emergency! The formula is infused with avocado and jojoba oils, giving it a velvety matte finish. The plus-side is that it does not dry out my lips at all. It goes on super wet and moist, and voila! within seconds of applying it, it turns into this amazing velvet sheen! If you’re looking for the perfect nude, this is a must-have.”

“I have always been a fan of liquid lipsticks and the Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss from Bare Minerals in the Party Starter shade is my absolute favourite. It somehow makes my lips look fuller, which is the reason for most of my pouty pictures! The lip gloss is loaded with shea butter, which makes my lips soft and moist, and the colour works perfectly on my pale skin. What makes this product a necessity for me is the light scent of vanilla-mint — it’s delish.”

“I’m a huge fan of lipstick. You give me any colour and I’ll wear it and flaunt it. But the one thing I’m weary about is texture, and Maybelline has impressed me with its Color Sensational Lip Gradation range. It’s has the softest, creamiest texture — it literally feels like there’s nothing on your lips. Also, it’s super rich and highly pigmented. Just one swipe of the lipstick and you’re good to go for the next 8-10 hours. Which brings me to my next point — it’s long-lasting too! I wear it to office almost every day, and no matter what I’m eating or sipping on, this lipstick just stays on. I’m currently crushing on the Fuchsia shade.
