#HauteHack: How To Remove Lipstick Stains From Clothes

Prepping for a party or stepping out for one is such a fun deal, right? You get to enjoy some self-pampering, plus you know that a slew of compliments awaits you. Standing in front of the mirror and working some make-up magic is all frolic until you pass a little something onto your garment — that lipstick stain or even a smear of your foundation. I’ve already told you in the past that makeup messes are reversible. Remember the hack about getting rid of foundation from your clothes?

Now, there’s a quick way how to remove lipstick stains from clothes as well. It is so common to have puckered up on the collar of your dress — damn annoying, I know. Or even rubbing off a little of your favourite lipstick on your boyfriend’s shirt when giving him a tight hug (every SINGLE time!), and secretly praying that he doesn’t notice. Lipstick stains are difficult to remove by using just detergent. The reason being the pigments and other strong ingredients included in the product.

But here’s what helps get lipstick stains off of garments — hairspray. Yes, you read that right! A spritz from that hairspray bottle of yours not just works magic on your tresses, it also helps eliminate lipstick stains from clothes. All you’ve got to do is spritz a nominal amount of hairspray on the stain. Let it settle on the garment for a few minutes (preferably about 20 minutes). The hairspray helps neutralize the oils present on it. Then moisten a clean cloth with warm water and try wiping off the stain. In case it’s a stubborn stain, you need to hand wash the garment before tossing it in a washing machine.
