If there’s anyone known for taking risks and experimenting with designs in the fashion industry, it is Manish Arora. Being the first Indian designer to showcase his work in the London and Paris fashion weeks, he’s sure put India on the global map. His designs are always quirky, vibrant, and full of life. In fact, his creations are much like works of art. Whether he’s dressing the likes of Sonam Kapoor or Kangana Ranaut, or designing kickass pollution masks, he is the one who is known how to make things pop. Last year, he also collaborated with Koovs to come up with his first menswear collection.
He launched his second store in Mumbai recently, and we got a chance to meet the man himself. Juggling between dress fittings for his models and giving us an interview, he showed that he can multitask, and how! The store truly represents Manish’s larger-than-life personality. In fact, when asked what inspired the décor of the store, he said that this how what his home looked like. Looking adorable in his printed sweatshirt (with cartoons on them!), Manish encourages everyone to take fashion risks and break out of the regular in this chat with Hauterfly. He wants you to add pinks to your wardrobe, buy some sexy lingerie, incorporate the hues of greens and ivory, and be as traditional as you like or not.
