Here’s A Bow Dress Simi Would Happily Wear To Her Next Date
Spring Summer 2016 saw one of the most cutesy trends on the runway — bows. Yes, across shoulders, around the neck, and over the garments, one saw the detailing in variations throughout global runways. Twin bows in Gucci to small necktie bows on Chanel’s ensembles and even offerings of Marni and Lanvin among others, I can rightfully call it a modern revival of vintage bow styles. Frankly, no one’s complaining because bows clearly translate as uber-feminine and cute. If you’re not bold enough to carry off a big bow on your ensemble, you can surely try adding the detailing in its minimal form. Team up a bow-detailed crop top with a fun pair of coloured trousers for an evening soiree or just work a bow dress to your next date and you’re bound to receive a number of compliments.
I’ve been vocal about how much I like bow detailing on ensembles. Despite my inclination to all things minimalistic, I also have sartorial penchants that fluctuate between bold and cute. And so, when I saw this striped dress on Closet Diaries, I knew this had to be on my Haute List for the week. I love stripes, and I think one can never have enough of them in their wardrobe. This button-down dress has a bow at the waist which is clearly the detail that stands out. Want to step out for the night with your super cute date? Team this dress up with a nude pair of ankle-strap espadrilles and a fun orange tote and you’re sorted for the outing. If you’re wearing it for a casual daytime deal, you could totally rock a pair of cute kicks and a neutral-hued backpack with the dress. No matter how you style it, be rest assured it’s a dress that’ll give you all the brownie points in the sartorial department.
