Boi’s Budget Buys: The Saturday Night Edit

Boi’s Budget Buys: The Saturday Night Edit

One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!

I hate not having plans on Friday nights. It’s the end of the week and I always feel like I’ve deserved a good night out to go dancing, drinking, and general merry-making. Even if I end up being a potato for the rest of the week, Friday nights need to be party central.

And boy, what a party was had last night. It was one of those crazy nights that put you off alcohol for, well, at least a few days. Without going into too many details, I’ll just say it was pretty epic.

And now I’m totes in the party mood. It’s Saturday, and instead of spending my night in my jammies, binge-watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. on my couch, I’d like to get out into town to do some booty-shaking. And that’s what has inspired this week’s look.

The awesome thing about partying in Bombay is the lack of pressure on what you’re wearing. Comfort definitely trumps everything else in this city, and it’s cool how every well-dressed girl you see here when you step up has found a way to be uber stylish while being uber comfortable.

But for me, the party mood is synonymous with some glitter and sequins, which is being taken care of by this Forever 21 geo-patterned sequinned mini skirt. Sexy, cool, and blingy!

I love the combination of a shirt tucked into a fitted mini skirt, which is why I’ve picked out this white Zara shirt to go with the skirt. But wait! Do you see that adorbs lil pineapple on the breast pocket? Yep, it’s all in the details.

Coming back to comfort, we’re sticking to our sneaker commitment this week too with these slip-on elastic white sneakers with faux leather gold panels on the side.

Add a simple yet functional black sling purse to stuff in your money, cards, and makeup, and you’re good to go. Given how blingy the skirt is, and how it deserves to be the heroine of the look, add-ons should be kept minimalistic, if at all.

So there you have it — a look that’s fun and sexy in equal parts, and more importantly, one you can throw on when you’re in a hurry. I’d suggest a subtle brown smokey eye and a dark wine-hued pout with this one. Am I getting those selfies, y’all?

Let me know what you think of the look or if there’s a particular look or piece you want me to style. Comment below, tweet to me at Chat_Boi, and just holla! Happy partying, ladies!
