Boi’s Budget Buys: The Beach To City Vibes
One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!
Guys, I don’t know about you, but ALL I’m been daydreaming about lately is going on a beach vacation. It’s literally all I can think about as I see various people on my Facebook feed ‘checking in’ to fancy destinations. Travel month may be over here at Hauterfly, but as far as I’m concerned (and most of you, I’m guessing), it never is.
Apart from modelling in my bikini alone in my room (no, I totes don’t do that *hides face*), I’ve also been dressing in outfits that will work both in the city (that is, at my job) and on the beach. They say dress for the job you want, not the one you have…so the job I want is to be able to make a living off of chilling on the beach — FOREVER.
Which brings me to this week’s beach-friendly, summer-friendly, daydream-friendly look. This floral romper from Mango really spells summer beach vacation out loud. Whether you’re lazing on the sand or out for a cosy dinner by the waves, this jumpsuit is multi-purpose. It also works perfectly well on a day-to-day basis to (my) work or brunch or a weekday dinner date.
Since layering is a thing we all love doing, I chose to layer this one piece with a beach cover-up (see, I wasn’t kidding about my beach vacay daydreams). The solid white cover-up by Nidhi Munim breaks the print of the floral and adds a stylish element to your ensemble.
Another thing I’m currently obsessing over is all things pom-poms. The pom-poms on these Koovs sandals and the pom-pom detailing on the Pipa Bella earrings not only satisfy my obsession with the trend, but also tie in the look together perfectly. In fact, the bright yellow in the earrings adds a fun, funky, summery pop of colour to the outfit, no?
And closing the look is an absolutely essential — whether it’s for the beach or for your commute to work — colourful and functional sunglasses. Vincent Chase is quickly becoming my fave sunglasses brand, and the hot pink on these are too fun to pass on.
Shop this entire look, obviously well under Rs 10,000 right here! And while I’m off to daydream about the beach some more, why don’t y’all send me your beach vacay selfies, so that I can FOMO a little more?
