#HauteList: The Best Fashion Launches Of May 2016

1. PHARELL WILLIAMS x ADIDAS Originals

All you beach bums have a lot to look forward to this season, the latest being a collection by musician-turned-fashion moghul Pharell Williams for Adidas Originals. The Pink Beach collection comprises varsity jackets, colourful crop tops, cute yet sporty skirts, bikinis and more in vibrant colours and funky patterns. You’ll never want to wear anything regular again.

2. MYNTRA IS BACK WITH ITS DESKTOP VERSION

When Myntra decided to go app-only last year, a number of us were disappointed to not have the convenience or the option to shop via our computers. But thanks to the online fashion portal’s latest strategy, Myntra has now relaunched its desktop version once more. This only means no more time-consuming scrolls on the small screen of your cell phone.

3. PAYAL PRATAP DEBUTS PRÊT LINE UMBAR

The designer known for her feminine and modern Indian clothing has made a prêt label debut. Pratap launched Umbar, a sleek, stylish and functional line for women. An amalgamation of folksy design elements and comfortable fabrics, the designer has targetted the 25-50 age group. Think dresses, crop tops, tunics and kurtas, blouses, wide-legged pants among others, that’s what Umbar is all about.

4. H&M Collaborates With Kenzo

While everyone anticipated that Kenzo would be roped in for H&M’s 2016 design collaboration, there was still a pinch of surprise when the Swedish fast fashion retailers made the scoop official. The new collection will hit stores and e-stores on November 3, and will be a mix of Kenzo’s maximalist design aesthetics with the H&M’s minimalist vibes. We’ll have to wait and watch, though!

5. MYNTRA Launches FINE JEWELLERY

Apart from launching back on the desktop, Myntra shared another bit of good news for online shoppers. It has entered the fine jewellery segment with the launch of Mia by Tanishq. The e-store already features about 40 independent jewellery brands, but fine jewellery is unchartered territory for the retailer. From bracelets to earrings and even pendants and bangles, Mia by Tanishq is an affordable range for working women. Perfect for your 9-to-5 endeavours!

6. RIHANNA COLLABORATES WITH DIOR ON SUNGLASS COLLECTION

RiRi has been the face of a number of hot collaborations, and the latest is her partnership with Dior to create a range of futuristic sunglasses. The name of the collection… wait for it… is “Rihanna” (obvs!) and will hit Dior stores in early June. Fashion insiders tell us the collection will comprise of one frame in six variations (priced at $840) and another deluxe 24-karat gold-plated version that will retail for $1,950.

7. MANGO LAUNCHED A RAMADAN COLLECTION

Following the footsteps of Italian design house Dolce & Gabbana, Spanish high street retailer Mango has come out with a Ramadan-special collection a week before the Muslim holy month. The Spanish brand will feature a range of 45 designs that’ll include leggings, tunics, kaftans, and other modest styles.
