Zahra’s New Stan Smiths Come In Such A Gorgeous Pink Shade!
Now that the new season is in full swing, there’s no doubt about it: your wardrobe needs a fresh injection of fun colours, be it via funky clothing or bright accessories. And if there’s one brand that knows how to do that in style, it’s Adidas. The label’s more fashionable offshoot Adidas Originals has been bringing out some rad collections over the years, thanks largely to collaborations with designers as varied as Stella McCartney and Mary Katrantzou to musicians like Pharell Williams and Rita Ora. The frenzy surrounding those one-of-a-kind pieces is legendary.
However, the one collaboration that really gets me going every season is the one with Belgian designer (and former Dior creative director) Raf Simons. Since 2013, the designer’s been dropping two collections a year with Adidas Originals, and it’s a union that’s proved to be superbly successful in the global fashion market. And now that the collab’s new Spring 2016 collection is out, my shopping obsession has gone into serious overdrive. I mean, just look at that gorgeous shoe and tell me it’s not true love?
I’m a sucker for sneakers, especially of the Adidas variety, so it comes as no surprise why these new kicks top my #HauteList right now. Firstly: Stan Smiths…hello! Secondly, how GORGEOUS is that vintage pink hue? Dubbed Ash Pink, it’s not too girly nor too butch. In fact, it’s the perfect pastel pink and is just begging to be added to my collection.
Keeping the classic silhouette’s minimalist profile intact, the most notable detail of the shoe’s design is Simons’ perforated “R” initial emblazoned on the side panels. What’s more, the tonal pink colour runs all across the leather upper, inner lining, tongue laces, and full-length rubber sole unit, which is pretty cool. Constructed of premium leather, the shoe is available in two more matte colourways – Night Marine and Blush Yellow – elevating and refreshing a retro design for a modern, street-savvy demographic.
However, the only thing stopping me from “add to cart” right now is that little thing called the price. I’m still deciding between paying all my bills this month or getting my hands on these amazing pink sneakers. But a girl can dream (and save), right?
