5 Style Lessons We Learnt From Anushka Sharma
More than often our favourite Bollywood actresses are dressed impeccably. Whether it is catching an early morning flight or just grabbing lunch with friends, their outfits are always on point, owing to the team of professionals that get them dressed, taking care of the smallest of details in their outfits.
While these outfits might seem aspirational and sometimes even inspirational, they sure as hell are intimidating and not something you and me can do on the daily!
However, if there one actress whose looks are always on point, yet easy to recreate and extremely relatable, then that is Anushka Sharma. Anushka, a.k.a the queen of minimalism, has something for everyone. Her style is easy-breezy and still looks polished and put together. She is never overdressed, and there is a sense of effortlessness in her style.
Hence, on the occasion of her 30th birthday, we are listing down style lessons we have learned from the actress. Keep scrolling, and take notes.
Lesson #1: When in doubt, do desi
Whenever Anushka has an important and prestigious event or just a fancy promotional event, she opts for desi looks.
As a girl whose style is minimal, it is always a better option to go down the desi route with sarees and flowy anarkalis than power dressing or going for OTT gown.
A beautiful saree or a flowy anarkali always looks graceful, and the rich fabrics paired with flowy silhouettes make it apt for important occasions.
Lesson #2: How to nail minimalism
There is no denying that Anushka is the queen of minimalism, and she does it in a strategic way. She sticks to classic prints in light fabrics, as she did in her Rosie Assoulin separates and her basic H&M dress which she paired with a statement Hemant and Nandita jacket.
Another trick she often uses is that, she always balances a statement piece with a basic one. She wore her beige Vizyon skirt with a white tee and paired her Dior skirt with a basic black Dior tee. She lets one piece of outfit be the statement. Another breezy style hack! She simply slips into a fuss-free printed maxi dress!
Lesson #3: Monotone and Monochrome to the rescue
For those of you who have never been able to master the art of mixing and matching, or have always been confused about what colour goes with what, take a page out of Anushka Sharma’s style playbook.
She is often seen sporting monotone (the same colour head to toe) or monochrome (black and white). The combination is a no-fail and works best for when you need to put an outfit together in a hurry.
Lesson #4: Her Wedding Trousseau
Needless to say, the most viral wedding of 2017 was the “Virushka” wedding. Her wedding trousseau was curated by every girl’s dream wedding designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Her wedding looks went onto to create many trends such as, pastel hues for wedding lehengas and she bought the Banarasi saree back with her with her Delhi reception look.
Heck, she even made a no-makeup-makeup look a bridal makeup trend with her wedding. This girl was all sorts of bridal goals. And of course, her chirpy and carefree spirit as a bride during her own wedding won many over.
Lesson #5: Stay Ripped
No, we are not talking about Virat Kohli’s ripped abs (Though that is something we would like from Anushka too!) Anushka, is often seen elevating her basic outfits, by styling it with ripped jeans to make a statement. She sure does love going to town when it comes to her ripped jeans, as she goes all out with them.
Here is wishing the lovely Anushka a very happy birthday! To many more years of style goals and inspiration.
