3 Cool Ways To Style A Longline Vest

3 Cool Ways To Style A Longline Vest

When you live in a city like Mumbai, wearing a blazer for a long period of time is almost impossible. The next best alternative, and a more stylish one, is a longline vest. Sleeveless and airy, they have the power to keep your look as formal as you like without cramping on your style.

Come autumn/winter, a longline vest becomes a staple in my wardrobe. While a black one matches with almost anything, neutral shades like khaki, white, grey and maybe even a navy, can totally change your dressing game. In a city that limits your layering opportunities, it certainly comes as a boon to your regular #ootd.

1. Wear It To Work

If you work in a corporate environment, black, grey and white are your office wear staples. And together, the colours work like magic. Pair your longline vest with high-waist trousers and a top; throw on a pair of leather slides and handbag to match.

2. Wear It Over Your Inner-Wear

A trend I never understood was wearing your inner-wear as outer wear. Sure, the occasional sports bra is doable, but how people manage to wear slip dresses without feeling naked is something I didn’t quite get. Until now, that is. Wearing it with a longline vest is a whole different ballgame. You don’t feel naked, you feel sexy and stylish at the same time.

3. Keep A Close Match

If your vest is grey, like this one, pair it with everything grey inside. Make like Kim Kardashian and go monotone. A grey skirt with a top in the same shade would look great on its own, but it would look even better with a longline vest.

H&M Jersey Crop Top (Rs 699)

H&M Slip-on Trainers (Rs 1,799)
