Quirky Pigtails, Contouring And Sleek Eyeliner On Day 4 Of AIFW
While most of Day 4 of Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2016 was dominated by radiant, nude skin and neutral make-up, we spotted some intense contouring, heavy smokey eyes as well as super sleek eyeliner looks! The whimsical Pippi Longstocking-inspired pigtails at Pero’s show were definitely the highlight of Day 4.
Nude Contoured Skin
Models at the Bodice and Eka shows gave us #ContouringGoals. We have long professed our dislike for the Instagram-worthy style of contouring. However, this seamless contouring that makes the models look like they were born with this bone structure (yes, they generally are!) we totally heart. If I could master this level of contouring, I swear I would never go out in public with a bare face.
French braids and Fishtail Braids
At the Anavila show, models wore some really kickass braids. All those who have been putting off learning the French braid need to buck up because clearly the braided hairstyle trend isn’t showing any signs of fading. The french braids ending in intricate fishtail braids coupled with heavily smoked eyes looks fab.
Back to school pigtails and Faux freckles
The quirky pigtails models wore in Pero by Aneeth Arora‘s show were inspired by Pippi Longstocking, who is the protagonist of Astrid Lindgren’s eponymous series of children’s books. Faux fringes, haphazard parts and metal wires were used to give the braids that whimsy twist. We’ve got evidence right here. The faux freckles added just the right bit of nostalgia to the look, a throwback to carefree times and hours spent in the sun.
Ombre lips
Elton J Fernandez is a master of innovation for using kohl on berry-coloured lipstick to get a gradiant effect. In Namrata Joshipura‘s show models wore ombre lips with super sleek eyeliner. Maybelline Lip Gradation stick in Red 2 was applied only on the centre of the lips, which was then topped up with a deep reddish-brown shade all over the lipstick followed by kohl only in the centre of the lips. What I loved, however, is the super sleek eyeliner. It looks like the kohl on the waterline was extended in both directions in one fluid stroke. I don’t see why this can’t be incorporated IRL. It’s a rad way of wearing everyday eyeliner.
