#AIFWSS17 Days 4 & 5: Fashion Trends To Look Out For

By  |

As AIFW S/S’17 came to an end, we experienced trends which totally took the runway by storm. Whether they were the different interpretations of spring staples such as florals, or even something classic like the paisley print — the last 2 days of the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring-Summer ’17 set the bar for the season. The trends that did stand out for Team Hauterfly on Days 4 & 5 were the use of various prints representative of spring. Besides that, since it was the finale, we definitely saw the theme of ‘royalty and extravagance’ going strong.

Scroll down to see the trends we totally loved from the last 2 days of AIFW S/S’17.

Geometrics, psychedelics, and stripes were all over the runway on Day 4. Vertical strokes, aztec designs, or funky colours — these prints are something we are all going to be wearing when the season hits.

Spring isn’t spring without florals — this trend is a must-have staple for the season! With showcases from Bhanuni by Jyoti, Hemant & Nandita, and Mandira Wirk on Day 4, florals got a mini-makeover for the spring-summer season.

Animal prints are one thing, but animal appliqué is a whole different ball game altogether. Saaj by Ankita and Aniket were two collections that pulled off this trend beautifully. With neat backgrounds and clean colours to work against, the animal appliqué and detailed embroidery really stood out.

Once again, this season wouldn’t be complete without paisley. Giving you a very summery vibe, designers such as Pria Kataria Puri and Pallavi Jaipur brought out the trend in a classic, subtle manner.

Day 5 was all about going big! The flowy gowns and elegant designs gave off a very goddess vibe. Whether it was Ambar Sahai’s  Grecian-esque vibe or JJ Valaya’s grand finale, it was all about looking and feeling like royalty.

Tiny but fierce, our Fashion & Beauty Writer grooves to her own soundtrack. An animal lover at heart, she plays proxy mommy to pretty much all the strays she meets.
