#AIFWSS17 Day 3: Florals And Ruffles Brought To Life

Day 3 of AIFW S/S’17 saw a whole lot of designers showcasing some very interesting collections. If I could describe it one sentence, Day 3 was definitely the epitome of spring/summer. Hues of whites and blues, pinks and oranges, and golds tookover the runway, along with futuristic designs by Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, that had that strong metallic shimmer and sheer sheens. Designers such as Ashima Leena, Anupama Dayal, and Siddhartha Tytler took a walk down garden-lane with a bright floral prints, bringing out a summery vibe. Kavita Bhartia, on the other hand, went along a more elegant route and showcased whites with intricate embroidery and lace.

What caught our eye on Day 3 of Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer ’17 would HAVE to be these two key trends that were pretty much paying homage to the beautiful, happy season.

FLORALS

As we already know, florals is one trend that totally defines the upcoming season. Encapsulating the spring/summer vibe, nothing can define it more than this fashion statement. Whether it’s prints, embroidery, or textiles, florals has been a classic trend that has never taken a backseat — in Indian ethnic wear such as sarees and sherwanis or even in those flowy dresses that we all love!

RUFFLES

Gauri & Nainika finally brought ruffles back into our lives! The vibrant colours of the OTT ’80s and ’90s trend, alongside the use of studded harnesses, brought out some amazing feminine yet empowering vibes! The puffy sleeves, big shoulders, and waist belts, paired with the solid colours, will undoubtedly take you down memory lane.
