ANYONE Can Wear Sonam’s Easy, Pull-Through Braid!

By  |

That Sonam Kapoor is a style diva is no secret, but her make-up and hairstyles are so #onpoint that sometimes they stand out more than her outfits themselves. It would be a shame to not give credit where it’s due i.e. her make-up artist Namrata Soni, who has been working overtime to give us one awesome look after another.

When celebrity makeup artists and hairstylists recreate styles that are inspired by vloggers, it makes you realise how powerful social media is. Often times, we see awesome makeup ideas and hairstyles that are really fabulous but aren’t sure how they’ll pan out IRL. Sonam is proof that there’s absolutely nothing that you can’t carry off, and more importantly, Namrata makes sure she makes it work for Sonam.

At a recent event, Sonam was seen wearing a lovely pull-through braid on her long tresses. The non-braid braid (more on this later) elevated her basic black dress, giving it a rather edgy vibe. This braid is a great idea to dress up a simple ponytail, but that’s not even the best part! You don’t even need to know how to braid to get this hairstyle.

All you need is straightened hair (because a curl or wave pattern might not sit as well as straight hair), a bunch of elastics, and you are sorted. Once you get the hang of this pull-through braid, you can style it in a couple of different ways.

Want to cop Sonam’s look? Follow the instructions in the video below:

Now, Imogen opts for a side braid which gives her a soft, romantic look. But if you want to look sharp, gather your hair in a high ponytail and secure with an elastic, like Sonam. Then follow Imogen’s instructions to make the faux braid. When you’re done, don’t cut off the first elastic if you want Sonam’s edgy pony.
