Sonam Kapoor’s 15 Best Beauty Looks Of 2015

Sonam Kapoor’s 15 Best Beauty Looks Of 2015

I know we keep repeating ourselves, but is there any other way to describe Sonam Kapoor other than a true blue fashionista? Not surprisingly, she made it to our Most Stylish Celebrities of 2015 list. But besides #fashiongoals, Sonam is also a source of endless inspiration in the hair and make-up department. Her beauty looks are always on point, and perfectly complement her stylish ensembles. Here’s our round-up of 15 of her best beauty moments in 2015. We swear, it wasn’t easy!

Earlier this year, Sonam wore this neutral brown make-up to go with her ivory and pearl ensemble. I absolutely love the exaggerated but softly smokey cat eyeliner that has very likely been made with powder eyeshadow instead of a liner. And that braided undo. Le sigh! The intricate braids are simply out of this world. I would love to observe make-up artist Namrata Soni while she works her magic on Sonam’s make-up and hair.

Looks like “if it’s not amazing, it’s not going on Sonam’s hair” was the memo. Let’s observe a minute of silence for this marvellous creation that is Sonam’s braids. The fishtail braid that starts on the top and ends in a twisted updo totally elevates her look.

Softly lined eyes, deep burgundy lips, bold brows, and soft romantic waves make this a perfect look for the day. Need a polished and sophisticated look for work? You’ve got it right here.

There’s something about milkmaid braids that instantly softens up your features. I like the idea of skipping eyeliner and opting for a bright, fuchsia pout instead.

IMO, this is a perfect date night look; done up just enough to bring out your features without looking overwhelming. Eyebrows #onpoint, a wash of taupe eyeshadow, softly smudged kohl on the lower waterline, flesh-coloured glossy lips, a hint of pink on the cheeks for a natural flush, and voila!

The whole point of hair and make-up is to create a balance. Sonam’s dark smokey eyes and statement eyebrows paired with the nude-brown glossy lipstick and a simple half-up-half-down hairstyle look perfectly at home on the red carpet.

Some extreme contouring and a deep, side parted updo combined with black smokey eyes make this a rather sharp look.

One can never go wrong with red lipstick and black eyeliner. A warm-toned coral blush is the perfect accompaniment to a bold, bright pout.

We Indians are obsessed with long hair. We never seem to tire of our Rapunzel-esque fantasy. These loose, beachy waves, worthy of a Victoria’s Secret model, are my ultimate hair goal.

I think Prem Ratan Dhan Payo couldn’t have released at a better time. Sonam gave us so many gorgeous traditional looks while promoting the movie, just in time for the festive season. There’s no reason why you can’t use her looks as a guide for what to wear to an Indian wedding.

Who doesn’t like a beauty look that you can do within minutes, minus an entire arsenal of beauty products? Chuck eyeliner and grab some Q-tips and a smokey eye palette to get this fierce smokey eye look. Fill in your brows, add two coats of mascara to your lashes, apply a nude lipstick and you can be out of the door in minutes.

I love it when the most simple looks can look so exquisite. Do you see how a single swipe of gold eyeliner elevates the simple kohl-ed look here? How beautiful and how easy was that!

So I’ve tried very hard to wean myself off my hot tools and embrace my natural wavy texture, but I can never stop appreciating the sleek sophistication of flat-ironed hair. There is no going wrong with straight hair, and I stand by it. That doesn’t mean I’m going back to my hot tools though!

Want to know what’s the “no make-up” look? This is it. I love how her features have been brought out, everything is clean and neat, and understated. For some notes on how to cop the look, here’s what you do.

The berry-hued matte lipstick and the layered cat eye make this a must-wear look for New Year’s Eve. It is bright and subtle in the right proportions. Apply a dark brown eyeshadow (preferably shimmery) all the way up to your crease. Use a lighter gold shadow on the brow bone. Line your eyes with a brown eyeliner, drawing a winged tip on the end. Use a gold eyeliner (preferably in a liquid formula) over the brown eyeliner and follow it right till the end of the winged-tip. Don’t forget to add lashings of mascara and fill in your eyebrows.
