Shraddha Kapoor’s Braided Ponytail Look Is Worth Stealing!
I’ve said this before and I repeat, we at Hauterfly wait with bated breath for new movie releases. Not so much because we’re movie junkies but because that’s when our Bollywood fashionistas step out in some stellar fashion and beauty looks. I’m pleasantly surprised that Shraddha Kapoor is now getting bolder in the hair and make-up department. Honestly, her staple neutral makeup + wavy hair combo was getting kinda boring. And so the prom-worthy updo and shimmery eyeshadow look that she tried a few months back was like a breath of fresh air.
Taking that slight experimentation forward, Shraddha recently stepped out in what looked like a faux mohawk tied into a ponytail. See how pretty her hair looked below:
Her hairstylist Amit Thakur then uploaded this video on Instagram giving us a 360º view of the look.
“Girl I need you ” love this song from #baaghi , we did #dutchbraids for her for the other half of the day today and put the rest #hair into a #textured #ponytail #baaghipromotions , how #cute is she looking ????? #love it ♥️ @shraddhakapoor #shraddhakapoor #baaghi #indianbeauty #gorgeous #cute #love #dutchbraids #modern #hairinspiration #hairstyles #braids @hair.videos A video posted by Amit Thakur (@amitthakur26) on
The faux mohawk is, in fact, a French braid while the sides have been weaved into a Dutch braid. I like the fact that they are roughly sectioned to keep things from looking too neat and sharp. Follow these steps to copy her look:
1. Divide your hair into three sections in the front.
2. Weave the crown into a French braid, and the sides into Dutch braids. Secure each braid with clear elastics.
3. Don’t forget to fan out the braids to give them a loose and relaxed look.
4. Tie the braids in a high pony along with the rest of the hair.
5. Tease the ponytail to make it look fuller.
6. Finish with a fine mist of L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hair Spray.
If you’re still wondering how to do it, here’s a video to show you how to get it right. I really liked this hairstyle because of its young vibe and the ease with which you can carry this off. You can easily wear this to work, a wedding, or even a chic party!
