#HauteHacks: 3 Tips To Make The Most Of Your Sheet Masks
Sheet masks are the holy grail of Korean beauty. If you’ve read about this extensive Korean skincare routine, you’ll know.
Here, in India, and pretty much all over the world, people have been going seriously sheet mask happy.
Now, that’s not necessarily a good thing, especially if you’re not making the most of your masks.
Here are 4 hacks that will help you use your sheet masks in the right way and get your money’s worth.
1. Cleanse Before, Moisturise After
No mask works well without a thorough cleansing. While this may seem obvious and you may be removing your makeup before applying this, that’s not enough.
Try a cleanser, an exfoliant, and a toner before using these to unclog your pores.
Remember, they don’t work like clay masks that detox your skin. They’re more like serums, so in order for them to be effective, you should also try and work in your moisturiser afterwards to seal in the goodness.
2. Spa Time!
Turn your sheet mask night into a mini spa therapy. Make the most of your sheet mask in the bath tub or shower. Turn the water on hot before you step in, to ensure there’s steam.
Then as you step into the water, make it warm, since hot water isn’t good for your skin. This will open up your pores. Once your cleansing/exfoliating is done, put the sheet mask on heated skin to ensure all the goodness seeps in.
3. Freezing Mask!
Put your sheet mask in the fridge! Especially if it’s hot outside, this is a great trick. The heat can upset the balance of your skin and we’ve all seen the effects of that.
So, a cool sheet mask will bring some coolness back to your skin. Sip on some cucumber and lime infused water for maximum body cooling.
