Reviewed: Rejuvenating Papaya Facial At Club Prana Spa, Hyatt Regency!
As a working girl on the go, I often take my skin for granted. From exposing my skin to the sun and pollution, to sometimes sleeping with makeup on, my skin surely suffers a lot! Especially in summer, when my skin breaks out and takes every opportunity to get sunburnt, no matter how much SPF I slap on. In my opinion, the best way for a lazy girl like me to treat my skin, is by indulging in a regular facial. So when I heard about the Rejuvenating Papaya Facial at the Club Prana Spa at Hyatt Regency Mumbai, I was ready to give my skin the pampering it so desperately deserves.
The newly introduced Rejuvenating Papaya Facial is part of Club Prana Spa’s curated Summer Time Goodness treatments that will not only help relieve stress, but also alleviate the sunburns, tans and skin issues that arise in this hot weather. The papaya facial promises to help reduce pigmentation and control acne breakouts and wrinkle formation. So obviously my expectations were sky high even before I went in.
On entering the luxurious and zen Prana Spa, I was guided into my therapy room by my therapist Mary who explained to me that the treatment would involve freshly prepared masks that contain a gamut of tropical fruits.
My facial started with a gentle cleansing with a papaya mask – which not only helped me get rid of dead cells, but also primed my face for the rest of the treatments and gave my skin a boost of Vitamin C and Vitamin A. This was followed by a luxurious strawberry scrub, after which I immediately noticed that my skin was visibly softer, and that those tiny bumps I couldn’t get rid of had halved. After a quick toning with some calming rose water, I was ready for an indulgent facial massage with honey and papaya.
I was happy to note that Mary took her time massaging the ultra nourishing mask into my face, thus ensuring that my stress slowly melted away. It honestly felt like she was ensuring that the pack deeply penetrated into my skin. This was followed by a banana pack – a natural moisturiser that helps restore your skin’s elasticity, ensuring that those fine lines are a thing of the past. A moisturising rose cream and sunscreen application ensured that Mary’s hard work wouldn’t be ruined by pollution.
The effects of the treatment were plain to see, my skin was glowing and how! No more sallow-looking skin! It looked like I had a real-life filter applied to my face at all times and I was so thrilled with how I looked that I happily skipped usual concealer.
The treatment is a bit on the steeper side, priced at Rs 2,500+ taxes for a 45-minute experience, but I think it’s completely worth it, considering how glowing and amazing my skin looked after it! The effects of the treatment lasted for a few days, during which I took it upon myself to take as many selfies of my glowing visage as my iPhone would store, and I can foresee myself indulging in this before attending a wedding or going on holiday.
So go ahead and give this luxurious facial a try, if you’re older than 25, you won’t regret it!
