Reviewed: Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Brow Kit

By  |

I really didn’t know the power of eyebrows until I went a little overboard filling them in while trying an Arabic-style extreme smoky eye look a few years back. The colourful and bold eye shadow, the graphic winged-tip eye liner, and my unnaturally black brows were competing with each other for attention. The final blow was when my mum inquired as to why I had Tarantulas for eyebrows. Post that, I steered clear of touching my brows. BIG mistake! Fast forward to make-up school last year when I was compelled to show my brows some love, it would be safe to say that I’m now a convert.

I used to think make-up artists exaggerated when they said that the eyebrows hold your look together. But now I can’t agree more. Even if I’m in a minimalist mood and want to stay bare-faced or if I’m supremely late, I always ensure that my brows are groomed, filled in and set in place. However, I’m tired of lugging around a spoolie, an eyebrow brush, and an assortment of brow powders in my make-up kit. I was looking for a kit that was compact enough to lug around, and had all the essentials needed to get me my statement-making brows.

Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Brow Kit

Enter the Focus & Fix Eyebrow Shaping Kit in Light-Medium from Makeup Revolution. The sleek and sturdy black case has three shades of densely-packed brow powders, a clear wax, a tiny pair of tweezers, and an applicator brush. Since I have dark and full brows, I generally use the darkest brown to fill them in. The powder is quite pigmented but not overpoweringly so, and I like that because you have the freedom to build on the intensity. The clear wax helps keep the brows in place, while adding a mild sheen. It offers medium hold and does not harden the brows. Generally, the applicator brushes that we get in palettes are useless. But the applicator that comes with this palette has thickly-packed bristles, and it works as well as an eyebrow brush would.

I only wish they had added a tiny spoolie to the kit. Despite that tiny drawback, I think this is a fabulous product and is totally worth the moolah!
