The Lip Stain That’s Missing From Bushra’s Beauty Arsenal
I love lipsticks. A lot. From the subtle my-lips-but-better shades to bright neon ones, I love them all. Mixing my lipsticks to make my own unique shade is a favourite pastime. In fact, I love tinted lip balms and chapsticks over regular ones. I guess my lips could always do with a little pick me up, right? Also, a quick hop to Pinterest means I’ll eventually reach out for my make-up bag and redo my lipstick because let’s just admit it, that place has some seriously envy-inducing posts on makeup.
I don’t know how I steered clear of lipstick for the longest time. Maybe it was my lack of knowledge of makeup coupled with oily skin. Matte lipsticks have been the hero products in my arsenal. However, sometimes I don’t feel like committing to wearing a whole lot of colour, but tinted chapsticks aren’t colourful enough. Times like these call for lip stains like MAC’s new Versicolour Stain.
MAC Versicolour Stain Perpetual Holiday
The Versicolour Stain comes in a short tube with a doe-foot applicator. It is a blend of gloss and stain in a fluid formula. It goes on with a watery consistency but sets into a gel when the volatile components evaporate. It looks glossy for the first few hours but that wears off eventually, and what you will be left with is a lovely deep stain. It does not feel tacky or smear like regular gloss, so that’s a big plus. Also, since it is infused with emollient oils, the texture does not dry out your lips. which can be a major issue for people with dry lips. I loved the colour Perpetual Holiday, which is a dark grape colour. Subtly gothic, I say!
