We Found Ruby Woo’s Twin And It’s Gorgeous
No ‘Best Red Lipsticks’ or ‘Iconic Lipsticks’ list is complete without Ruby Woo from MAC and rightfully so. Obviously, I have a tube of Ruby Woo too but getting my hands on one was almost as difficult as winning the Decathlon. No matter which part of the world you are in, Ruby Woo is always out of stock. My weekly sojourns to the MAC store got me a BFF in the sales assistant of the store. It was a trying time. Luckily for me, my new BFF agreed to call me the minute Ruby Woo was back in stock, and that’s how I got my tube of the iconic lipstick.
MAC Ruby Woo (Rs 1,500)
While my cats have taught me to be patient and wait for the kill, it can be very frustrating for most other people. Surely there has to be a dupe that works just as well but is far more easily available than MAC’s Ruby Woo. That’s how my search led me to Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Matte – Really Red.
Both MAC Ruby Woo and Revlon Really Red are warm-toned reds that have a brightening effect on the skin. They are both intensely pigmented, what you see in the tube is what you get on your lips. While they’re both matte lipsticks, Really Red is a better formula as Ruby Woo tends to get annoyingly dry after a couple of hours. Revlon’s Really Red is a touch darker but the difference is minuscule and only a seasoned Ruby Woo-wearer can tell the difference. It is as close as a true match can get!
