How To Get The Half-Smudged Lollipop Lips Look

By  |

The online beauty community is blowing up, owing to which we see several bizarre beauty trends popping up every now and then. From wiggly eyebrows to extensions for your nostrils, these folks have pushed the boundaries of creativity quite literally. While more than often than not, these trends tend to die as fast as they go viral, there are some trends that are actually wearable, and have been embraced by many. One of them is the Lollipop Lips trend.

The idea of this trend is to leave a stain on your lips, something that mimics the look you get after you have devoured a popsicle or a lollipop. The experimental trend first appeared in March 2017, but it was only this year that it translated itself into a more wearable look that the beauty industry is loving.

Originated on the runways of London Fashion Week at the Preen show, this look was created by M.A.C, using a “Ruby Woo” coloured lip pencil; and for the shiny look, they used their famous “Lipglass gloss”. The look is pretty original, chic and, needless to say, quite provocative!

From Dolce & Gabbana’s cherry-juice shades to high-shine fuchsia at Chanel, and perky raspberry pink at Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, these glossy, stained lips were all over the SS 18 runway, and it’s time you get on board as well.

Here is how you can recreate this simple yet chic makeup trend!

Start by staining your lips using a lip and cheek stain.

Top the look with juicy clear gloss. Don’t just limit yourself to your lips, smear that gloss around the corners of your lips as well.

Alternatively, you can also use a cream blush as a lip stain. Using the smudger side of the blush, smudge away to get that lollipop look.
