Is Rihanna’s Fenty Foundation Worth The Hype For Indian Skin Tones?

Is Rihanna’s Fenty Foundation Worth The Hype For Indian Skin Tones?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve definitely come across Rihanna’s latest beauty collection, Fenty Beauty. Of course, EVERYONE has been raving about how fab RiRi’s products are and the star of the show is the foundation.

The foundation comes in 40 shades, which is meant to suit a spectrum of skin tones — from extremely light, to darker skin. Indian skin tones vary from fair, to medium, to wheatish, to dark, to really dark — basically Fenty would fit perfectly into our market.

The product isn’t available in India, BUT since we’re literally seeing it everywhere on social media we thought how great can this product actually be?

The whole point of this beauty collection was to be inclusive of all skin tones, so beauty bloggers put it to a test!

6 beauty vloggers with Indian skin tones put the product to the test and here’s what they had to say.

P.S. If anyone is around the Fenty Beauty collection, you’re going to want to give ’em your wishlist!

Kaushal Beauty

Kaushal didn’t find a perfect match (her skin looked a tad bit yellow), but she didn’t quite mind that slight tint. What she loved most about the product was that it was full-coverage, at the same time it didn’t feel cakey. Her skin felt like skin apparently. In the end, once the product set into her skin it actually looked quite seamless and fab.

VERDICT: Skin feels like skin, so Thumbs Up!

Limitless Bwl

Moving towards a more darker skin tone, this vlogger found that the shade she matched with was a little lighter in the bottle. However, its warm undertones when applied seemed to balance out on her skin. The one downside she found was that the product was more light coverage than full, as she felt like it wasn’t covering her blemishes.

VERDICT: Barring the coverage, Thumbs Up!

Deepica Mutyala

Deepica loved the coverage of the product and loves how well it blended into the skin. She felt that the foundation sat well and loved the fact that she didn’t have to colour correct for certain areas that she usually does. Plus, it didn’t feel heavy on her skin either.

VERDICT: Everything was perfect so, Thumbs Up!

Sharifa Easmin-Kabir

She was in love with the foundation, but found that in order to get full coverage she needed to use a lot more product. She loved the natural finish of the foundation though!

VERDICT: Not medium to full coverage but, Thumbs Up!

Arshia Moorjani

Arshia felt like the foundation looked amazing on both the camera and in person. It didn’t cake up and she feels that Fenty Beauty is the perfect go-to for someone who just can’t find their right shade — with 40 shades of foundation, there is definitely one for everyone.

VERDICT: The perfect foundation, so Thumbs Up!

VBeauty Log

For this beauty vlogger, the foundation seamlessly blended on to her skin — with and without the blender or brush. Calling it really sheer and natural, she was thoroughly impressed by the range of shades that Rihanna has come up with. She didn’t feel the need for layering her foundation with concealer, as the foundation did the job itself!

VERDICT: Love, love, love, so Thumbs Up!
