Ileana D’Cruz’s LFW Makeup Slays This Beauty Trend

It’s time to look back at Ileana D’Cruz’s makeup during the Ridhi Mehra fashion show at Lakmé Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016. I know you can’t take your eyes off the gorgeous lehenga or those sultry eyes, but look a little harder. We spot a trend, do you? And that trend is called draping.

Celebrity makeup artist, Daniel Bauer, created this look and he tells us that draping is going to be big next year! Nope, we aren’t talking about saree draping, we’re talking about draping your face. It’s a trend that was used as a contouring technique even decades ago, and is making a major comeback.

Draping is about using the same concept as strobing and contouring, but doing it with blush. So, say bye-bye to harsh, brown contours and stark shimmers. Use one or two blushes to create dimension on your cheekbone — you can go as bold as you want. Keep the lighter shimmer shades to the top of your cheekbones, and the darker, matte shades for the hollows of your cheeks. Make sure your shades blend into each other, since draping isn’t about sharp lines.

#HauteTip: Try a duo blush palette, like the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duo in Rose Blush to achieve this look.
