One of the things I dread most about winters is dry skin. And when it comes to one of the most overlooked and overused parts of your anatomy — your feet — cracked heels are not just common but also a sore sight you could do without.
If you share my pain, here’s a wonderful DIY foot treatment that’s worked wonders for me every time the skin on my feet gets dry and flaky. Mix lemon juice, sugar and glycerin in equal parts and stir the mixture until the sugar granules have nearly melted. The citric acid in lemon juice and the sugar granules help to form a good scrub to clear away dead skin cells and prevents bacteria from forming in the cracks, while glycerin softens the skin. Slather this concoction on your feet and put on a pair of socks before hitting the sack every night. A week into this nightly routine and you’ll see your feet looking and feeling smoother and softer.
