How To Get Sonam Kapoor’s Gorgeous Vintage Finger Waves
This isn’t the first time Sonam Kapoor has given us a pretty look, nor is it the first time she’s sported gorgeous vintage-inspired hair. Not too long ago, she wore her hair in some lovely retro waves while promoting Prem Ratan Dhan Payo last year, and here she is again — rocking totally drool-worthy finger waves circa the 1920s. She kept things minimal and fuss-free in the make-up department to match the vintage chicness of her hair. But I love the contemporary twist she gave her look with the tangerine lips instead of the customary ruby red; that kept things from getting too costume-y.
Hydrated skin is key to flawless make-up so make sure you prep your skin with Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Light Cream and Pond’s Age Miracle Firm and Lift to firm up the under-eye region.
Work That Base
You don’t want to look made-up and cakey, so the Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Effect Foundation is a great option since it is a light, medium coverage product. It has photocromatic pigments which reflect light, making them ideal for winter. Use the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer to cover any problem spots. Apply in thin layers because you want to look natural.
Use a matte mid-tone brown eyeshadow all over your eyelids to create some depth or you could even opt for something like the Inglot Freedom System Eye Shadow Square in 457 that has micro-shimmer. Tightline the lashline with Faces Magneteyes Kajal and add two coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara for a full set of peepers. While we are going easy on the eyes, we’re going all out as far as the brows are concerned. Create power brows by filling them with NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade in Espresso.
For a wash of colour, apply a peach blush to complement the tangerine lips like Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Peach.
A swipe of MAC Morange works really well. You can skip the lip liner if you apply it well.
