Say Hello To Gradient Lips — 2016’s Biggest Beauty Trend

How To Do Gradient Lips_Hauterfly

If you’ve been following our posts from Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2016, you’ve clearly seen how big a trend gradient lips are. They not only look gorgeous, but are pretty easy to recreate too. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, let me break it down for you. You might be aware of ombre lips if you’re a make-up junkie like me. And gradient lips are just like ombre lips, only slightly reversed.

Gradient lips are fairly simple to achieve. Take two lipsticks of your choice and mix them to give your lips a dual-tone effect.  If you want your lips to look fuller and plumper, apply the lighter shade in the centre and go darker towards the outer corners. And if you like the stained lip look just flip the colours, meaning use the darker shade in the centre and lighter one in the corners. Be sure to wear a lip balm if your lips are dry because nothing ruins a gradient lip like chapped lips. You want your application to be smooth and your final product to look flawless. Now that you have a better idea on how to get gradient lips, make sure you blend in both the colours well so they merge into each other and don’t look like two separate colours. If you’re not one to carry multiple lipsticks around, this Maybelline gradation lipstick gives you the perfect gradient effect.

Gradient lips can be done in lots of different ways. You can use one colour too with concealer or foundation or simply some lip balm. The video below should help you understand how to do this yourself. Try it out and let us know what you think!
