Glass Hair Is The Latest Celebrity Trend To Copy
If you always wanted to go short or try the sleek blunt bob, right about now is a good time to take the plunge. First came the Korean beauty trend “glass skin“, which involved double cleansing, intensely hydrating, and moisturising for ultra-luminous skin, and now the sleek look has transcended into the hair industry with glass hair.
If you haven’t noticed already, sleek blunt bobs have been a favourite with celebrities this season. And if you are wondering what is so “glass” about the classic bob cut, well, it is in the way you style it. This sharp cut is perfectly polished, glossy, straight, flat, glistening and shiny, much like the reflective qualities of glass.
Many celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Lucy Hale, Yvonne Orji, Kylie Jenner, Dua Lipa, Olivia Culpo, Khloe Kardashian, Bella Hadid, Naomie Harris, Selena Gomes, Mila Kunis, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Graham, and Yami Gautam closer to home have been rocking this hair trend.

I've been getting a lot of questions about @kimkardashian super sharp bob so I thought I would answer some! The inspiration was 90s swishy glass hair. I wanted to create a really intense shine and for the hair. I cut the kims hair shorter than we’ve ever done before just underneath the jaw line, keeping the cut blunt with no angle. For me getting an intense shine was really important part of our look. On wet hair, I applied @ColorWowHair #DreamCoat then blow dried the hair using a large round bristle brush. Unlike the sleek styles we've done in the past we wanted the hair to have some volume, so I kicked the ends under for the cute 90s twist. I always finish off with a drop of #ColorWowHair Pop and Lock just to finish off the shine and lock in the style. Hope this answers all your Qs #chrisappletonhair @makeupbymario
Kim Kardashian’s hairstylist Chris Appleton shared a picture of Kim’s glass hair bob and explained the style with a caption that read: “The inspiration was 90s swishy glass hair. An easy way to achieve this style is to start with wet hair, then apply a coat of shine serum, followed by which you blow dry your hair using a round bristle brush; the heat always adds that extra shine. Running serum through your hair also helps you get that shine. Also, when working with straight hair, avoid water or water-based hair products, as they can cause your hair to frizz up and won’t hold straight hair well. Finish off with a shine spray!
What we love the most about this trend is that it is short, crisp and a lot less high maintenance than it looks. Scroll down for some glass hair inspo…
