How To Get Neha Dhupia’s Chic, Party-Ready Eyes

‘Tis the season to be merry! Diwali may be over but we’re only just getting into the wedding and party season. There are a zillion pre- and post-wedding bashes, Christmas, and of course, the big New Year bash at the end of the year. This is precisely why my Pinterest boards are full of make-up and hair inspiration, so that I can try something new for pretty much every other night in the last few weeks of 2015.

Which brings me to this flat-out fabulous look Neha Dhupia recently wore during a round of promotional activities. To be honest, I expect nothing less from her. She rarely takes a misstep in the fashion and beauty stakes, and wears her style with so much ease and confidence. I think this look is perfect to try for the party season ahead and the best part about these bold eyes is that even Miss Butter Fingers can do it, no fancy brushes needed.

Start by applying a shimmery eyeshadow in a dark brown colour all the way up to your crease, keeping the inner corners of your eyes bare. Using a Q-tip, soften the edges and blend it out a little. Use a fresh Q-tip to line the lower lash line with the same eyeshadow. Now you can go as thick as Dhupia if you like a bold, edgy look, or just trace a little eyeshadow on the lower lash line for a diffused look.

Use a champagne-coloured eyeshadow to highlight the brow bone, then use your ring finger to blend the brown and champagne shadow at the crease. The effect should be smokey and bold. Line your waterline with kohl, although this is strictly optional, and apply two coats of your favourite mascara. As for the eyebrows, groom them and set them in place with clear mascara but don’t fill them in with brow products. You don’t want an overly strong, over-powering look. The effect needs to look smokey and sexy.

Use a blush in coral or peachy pink to warm your complexion, and avoid dark lip colours unless you’re looking to rock a goth chic look. Personally, I love the peachy-orange lipstick that Dhupia is wearing.
