An Easy Guide To Whimsical Glitter Eyes

The recently concluded Indian Couture Week and Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2018, saw a lot of trends on the runway, but one major beauty trend that we spotted, was sparkly glittery eyes. This trend is whimsical, pretty and is going to be huge for the upcoming wedding and festive season. Here is a simple step-by-step guide on how to do glitter eyes.
Step 1: Prime Your Lids
The first step is to prime your eyelids, so it holds onto all the eyeshadow, and makes it look super pigmented.
Step 2: Fill Your Brows
As the primer is sitting on your lids, it’s time to fill your eyebrows in. Do not go for a very dark tint. Go for something that’s lighter as you want your eyes to make the statement. Your eyebrows can be a little soft and subtle, while they are still well-shaped and arched.
Step 3: Contour Your Lids
For the next step, take a brown eyeshadow and contour your lids to define the shape of your eyes.
Step 4: Use a Base Shade
If you are working with silver glitter for this eye look, pick a gunmetal silver colour as the base shade to create an even base. For those working with pink glitter, gold glitter or purple glitter, pick a base shade that is from the same colour family.
Step 5: Add that Sparkle
Taking glitter pigment on a flat foundation brush, start from the centre of your lids and work your way towards the inner corner of your eye in a dabbing motion.
Step 6: Add some Contrast
Once the glitter is in place, to make it pop and shine even more, add some contrast. Pick a darker shadow and deposit it in the outer corner of your eye. Using a pencil brush, soften it by blending it away.
Step 7: Line Your Lower Lashline
To complete the whole eyeshadow bit of this eye makeup, take the same base shade and sweep it along your lower lashline. Once done, finish this look with mascara.
Step 8: Go for muted Lips
Since the eyes are super dramatic, go for a more muted shade when it comes to lips. To round off the look, pick a pinkish nude lip colour, in a matte finish.
