#HauteHack: This Kitchen Ingredient Works Perfectly As A Dry Shampoo!

One of the main reasons I prefer short hair to long tresses is the fact that you spend a lot less time washing, styling, and grooming them. And let’s just admit that long hair and sultry summers just don’t go well together. However, no matter how short or long your hair is, there’s one problem that unites us all — an oily scalp. Although some people have to wash their hair almost every day in summer (I’m so thankful I don’t have to or I’d seriously consider going bald), most of us can sail through day two and push towards day three with a little help from a trusty dry shampoo. Forget diamonds, I say dry shampoo is a girl’s best friend!

We’ve all been through situations when we simply run out of life-saving products because we were too lazy to restock or simply forgot about it. These panic-inducing situations can either lead to hysterical meltdowns or put enough pressure on our brain to come up with a genius hack. Which is where I come in with this handy beauty hack!

If you run out of dry shampoo, simply head to your kitchen and grab some cornstarch. Don’t look aghast; this ingredient isn’t just meant for lip-smacking sauces. Cornstarch doubles up as a great substitute for dry shampoo when you’re in a desperate situation because it has the ability to absorb excess oil instantly. Simply dust some on your scalp and brush through thoroughly. If you’re headed for an event and worried about your hair looking white, just mix it up with some cocoa powder (equally safe for the scalp) and dust it through for a more brunette-friendly hue. And there you have it: an inexpensive alternative to dry shampoo!
