Charcoal is the new magical ingredient. The beauty industry has been finding favourite ingredients for a while now and it looks like right now, charcoal is riding that wave of popularity. There was a while when Aloe Vera had taken centre stage and most products of having some percentage of aloe vera. But then aloe vera had it easy, it didn’t look bad or anything. 

With charcoal, it’s in a bit of a soup considering the it comes in shades of black, something that the beauty industry claims not to be averse to but definitely is. So, as a beauty ingredient, charcoal had a bit of lobbying to do. Turns out. activated charcoal can do fabulous things for the skin and the minute that was news, companies are baying for a bit of charcoal for their products. This is a face wash that claims to go beyond the surface. The formulation allows for deep cleansing, launching an offensive on impurities and toxins. It even helps with blood circulation so it sounds like a pretty cool deal. *stocks up*

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask (Rs. 1895)

A glow mask that is touted to be a dupe of the Glamglow purifying mud mask, the expectations are high with this one.  You slather a generous layer on and as you wait, the mask goes all ninja on clogged pores, impurities and toxins. We like the sound of that. 

DearPacker Home Remedy Mask – Charcoal (Rs.100)

Sheet masks and in general, Korean skincare is a rage right now and this sheet mask comes loaded with the goodness of charcoal. A warning though, this sheet mask is actually black so might want to hold off on the socialising till you actually take this off.
