Alia Bhatt Is Scoring In the Hair Department — Again!

The last time Alia Bhatt tirelessly gave us one braided hairstyle after another was while promoting Shaandaar, and we lapped up each look with the excitement of a fox terrier! We expected no less when she recently started promoting her latest film Kapoor & Sons, and we must say she isn’t one to disappoint. Alia is surely going down as the Queen of Braids in Bollywood, what with all the innovative braided looks her favourite hairstylist Ayesha DeVitre has been churning out.

Don’t believe us? Check it out for yourself:

Schoolgirl braids with a twist

Who hated the two-plait rule in school? *raises hands* I wish I was in school now. Who knew you could have so much fun with hair by merely braiding them. Alia’s hair has been parted in the centre then plaited into two Dutch braids right up to the nape of the neck. Each braid has been secured with a clear elastic and then a piece of hair has been wound around each to conceal it. The rest of the hair has been teased or back combed to give it a fuller effect. I love this preppy style!

The high pony with a surprise element

There’s no denying that Alia looked cute in those culotte overalls and that pussy bow blouse is purr-fection! Her makeup is young and fresh, in keeping with her character. That sleek high ponytail goes well with the outfit as well. But clearly Alia loves to surprise us because when she turned around we saw a neatly coiled braid bang in the centre. The braid is visible only when Alia tilted her head to either side. Must say that’s a very cute surprise element!

Kick “S”tarting promotions!!!! ? #KapoorAndSons

Figure ‘S’ braid

Alia kick”S”tarted her film’s promotions with this look. Her hair was parted on one side, the larger section curled and let loose. The smaller section had a half-french braid running along the part, which finished in a regular three-strand braid. The braid was then coiled in an ‘S’ shape and pinned in place. What is commendable is the fact that Ayesha has now started concealing the bobby pins, which is how you should do your hair. Visible bobby pins and hair elastics are the VPL of hairstyles. Hide them from plain sight and you’re golden!
